=> Crowded teeth occur when there is not enough space in the mouth for all the teeth to fit properly.
=> This can cause teeth to shift and become misaligned.
=> Main causes of dental crowding include inadequate space in the mouth for all the teeth, teeth larger than the jaw or a jaw that is too small, early loss of primary teeth or improper eruption of teeth.
=> Available treatment options for dental crowding are braces or clear aligners to straighten teeth, expansion of the arches or extraction of teeth to create more space, retainers to maintain the position of the teeth after treatment.

It is important to fix dental crowding to maintain healthy teeth and gums, prevent dental decay and periodontal disease and improve the appearance of teeth.

=> Baby teeth are the first set of teeth that appear in a child's mouth.

=> They usually start to emerge between the ages of 6 to 12 months and continue to erupt until around age 3.

=> These teeth are smaller in size and whiter in appearance than adult teeth and are essential for chewing, speaking and guiding the permanent teeth into their correct positions.

=> Children typically have 20 baby teeth which will gradually fall out and be replaced by permanent teeth from around the age of 6 years old.

=> It's essential to take care of baby teeth as cavities and other problems can affect the development of the permanent teeth.

We prioritize the care and comfort of your child. Our team of experienced professionals is here to provide high-quality dental services to help your child achieve a healthy and happy smile!

06/19/2023

Wisdom teeth which are the last set of molars to emerge in the back of the mouth often cause problems due to the lack of space in the jaw.
Some of the possible symptoms of wisdom teeth are:

1) Pain and discomfort in the back of the mouth: Tooth pain is often the first sign of a problem.

2) Gum swelling and tenderness:The gums may appear red, swollen and may bleed easily when brushing or flossing.

3) Difficulty opening or closing the mouth: If the wisdom teeth become impacted,it can cause jaw stiffness and difficulty in opening or closing the mouth.

4) Bad breath or an unpleasant taste: When food particles get trapped around a partially erupted wisdom tooth, it can cause bad breath or a foul taste in the mouth.

5) Sinus problems: If the upper wisdom teeth push against the sinuses, it can cause congestion, pressure and sinus pain.

If you experience any of these symptoms, it is recommended to consult a dentist or oral surgeon to assess the situation. They can perform a dental exam and take X-rays to determine if wisdom teeth removal is necessary.

Poor dental health can lead to a variety of health problems beyond just tooth decay and bad breath.
Some of the health problems that can result from poor oral hygiene are -
1) Gum disease which can lead to bone deterioration and tooth loss.

2) Cardiovascular disease which can occur when bacteria from infected gums enters the bloodstream.

3) Respiratory infections as bacteria from the mouth can enter the lungs.

4) Diabetes as gum disease can make it harder to control blood sugar levels.

5) Pregnancy complications including premature birth and low birth weight.

6) Dementia as gum disease bacteria can enter the brain through the bloodstream or nerve channels in the head.

7) Kidney disease as infections caused by poor oral hygiene can lead to kidney failure if not treated.

8) Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis as poor oral health can exacerbate these and other conditions.

9) Blood clots which can form and interrupt the flow of blood to the heart, thus triggering a heart attack.

To prevent these health problems, it is important to maintain good oral hygiene habits such as brushing twice a day, flossing daily and using mouthwash.
Eating a well-balanced diet and limiting sugary foods and drinks can also help maintain healthy teeth and gums.
