Did you guess correctly? We determined that the most discolored egg was the one that soaked in...

🥚The Sweet Tea! 🥚

We were surprised! I'm sure this will vary depending on brand and other variables, but it was the strongest one for our experiment.

** Next question: Do you think brushing 🪥these eggs will make any difference??? **

The eggs have emerged! You don't get to hear our reactions in this video, but that Alani drink definitely had an impact! Which one looks the most discolored to you?

10/20/2026

I'll be posting the results tomorrow (Wednesday). Which drink do you think will discolor the egg the most? Cast your vote, just for fun!

Here's how you get to participate!

React to this post with your best guess for which drink will cause the most discoloration in the egg shell:

Alani energy drink? (like) 👍
coffee? (love) ❤️
Sweet tea? (care) 😊
cranberry juice? (laugh) 🤣
Cola? (wow) 😮

If you have a guess about which drink will cause the egg shell to be the thinnest (eaten away) or softest (just squishy), leave a comment!

Here's how we set it up:

We hardboiled eggs. 🥚
We measured the same amount of liquid into each cup, labeled with the type of beverage. 🥃
We gently put the eggs into the cup. 🥚🥃
Now we wait! ⏳

Why eggs, you might ask? Well, eggs are NOT teeth. 🦷 BUT, they have similar characteristics that make doing experiments like this fun and insightful! 🎉🥚🦷

It's National Dental Hygiene Month (coincidence with Halloween this month?), so we're doing a fun experiment!

Do you have a favorite drink you sip throughout the day? Do you forget to brush after enjoying a special beverage?

What impact does that have on your teeth?

Stay tuned this week for more details of our experiment and how you can participate!

I grabbed a couple dozen donuts for a youth church class from St. George's donuts in Nixa at their ribbon cutting today!
