We are excited to announce that as of July 6th, our office has been fully reopened. We have closely followed updated guidelines from American Dental Association (ADA), Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We are taking many precautions and screening all patients and employees each day. We ask that patients wear a mask to each appointment, and we are deferring treatment for two weeks if certain risk factors exist. If you are overdue for a cleaning, please give us a call so we may reschedule you for a time that is comfortable for you. I have been overwhelmed hearing stories of such resilience during these difficult times and have great pride returning to care for our amazing patients.

We, at Mastros Family Dentistry, hope that all of our patients are well and staying positive during these challenging times. Due to the Governor’s extended orders, we are being directed to treat on emergency basis until May 1. This date could move again depending on the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) in Virginia hospitals.

But, during this time, we are not sitting idle. We are planning our re-opening and are busy adding additional safety measures. There are many changes being made, but two of the most obvious will be adjusting our schedule to accommodate social distancing measures, and we will be wearing more protective gear than typical. We will start to reschedule missed appointments and will prioritize urgent care needs first.

We are checking messages daily, and we have an emergency line available to all of our established patients.

I want to take a moment to inform our patients that our office will be closing to non-urgent dental care starting Tuesday, March 17th for a two week period in light of COVID-19. This is following the Virginia Dental Association Board of Directors unanimous recommendation this evening. At this time, it is not a mandate, but we feel that the recommendation is the responsible choice to keep everyone safe and well. If you are in need of urgent care, please call our office and contact us via our emergency line. We are here to help. Good night, and God bless!
