Modern healthcare has one shared goal: a healthy child.
The old healthcare model separated medicine and dentistry.
The new model integrates them.
I had the privilege of lecturing with pediatrician Dr. Mann about the importance of collaboration in understanding facial growth, airway development, and childhood health.
Pediatricians often see the first signs:
snoring, mouth breathing, poor sleep, behavioral changes.
Dentists and orthodontists see how those same issues affect jaw development, occlusion, and facial structure.
When these disciplines communicate, children receive better diagnoses and better outcomes.
As orthodontists and facial orthopedic specialists, we often serve as a bridge between multiple providers — pediatricians, ENTs, myofunctional therapists, allergists, and dentists.
Healthcare should never function in silos.
The body doesn’t.
If your child is snoring at night constantly mouth breathing, etc. this is not healthy.
