As we face uncertain times during this crisis, I want you, my dear valued patients, to know that our dental office is doing everything we can to keep you safe, as we care for your dental needs. I feel that we, as dental providers, are one of the most prepared places to care for our patients against something like this, even though we are in uncharted territory right now. We always practice universal precautions, protecting our patients against HIV and hepatitis on a daily basis. We have always implemented the highest standards of disinfection and sterilization, but we have increased the amount and frequency of disinfection throughout our entire office. This includes wiping down doorhandles, countertops, pens, and many other commonly touched surfaces after every contact. Furthermore, we have been spacing out patient appointment blocks, so that patients are being seen one at a time, with little or no overlap, reducing contact with others. None of us have knowingly had any contact with anyone that has tested positive for the virus. The CDA has mandated that we continue practicing dentistry for patients with emergency needs. They had originally said that it needed to be a life-threatening dental emergency, which would have made it an extremely small number of patients that could be seen. They have since modified their mandate, allowing dentists to use their best professional judgment to determine which patients need to be seen. That being said, we are available to take care of your dental needs, so feel free to call and schedule an appointment, knowing that you are still in good hands. We are open and will always be here for you!
Sincerely,
Dr. Borgman and staff
