Five signs it's time to see a dentist. Most people ignore at least one of these:
Gums that bleed when you floss. Healthy gums don't bleed. About 4 in 10 adults over 30 have some form of gum disease, and bleeding is usually the first warning. Caught early, it's very treatable.
Sensitivity to hot or cold. That quick zing from coffee or ice cream can mean worn enamel, a receding gum line, or a cavity getting started. Roughly 1 in 8 adults deals with it, and most never mention it at checkups.
Bad breath that won't go away. If mouthwash only fixes it for an hour, the source is almost always in the mouth itself, somewhere your brush isn't reaching.
Food stuck in the same spot. When one tooth traps food every single meal, there's a reason. A gap, a worn filling, or a cavity forming. About 1 in 5 adults has untreated decay, and it usually doesn't hurt until it's deep.
It's been over a 6 months. By the time something hurts, the fix is bigger. Regular visits catch problems while they're small.
None of these automatically mean something serious, but all of them are easier to treat early. If one sounds familiar, come in and let us take a look before it turns into something bigger.
