"For me to do this is probably, like, somebody else having major brain surgery or life-threatening surgery."
That's how one of our patients, Kathy, described coming to the dentist. She travels 270 miles to see us because she knows we understand that her dental anxiety isn't something she can just "get over" – it's a real fear that requires specialized care and compassion.
CBS News recently featured our approach to treating patients with dental anxiety, and we're proud to be part of the conversation about this often-overlooked condition. Studies show that 1 in 5 Americans has some level of dental fear, but we believe that number is actually much higher.
The good news? With the right support, sedation options, and a dental team that truly understands anxiety, patients like Kathy can get the care they need. She walked out smiling, saying, "I have a nice, shiny new tooth!" – and that's exactly why we do what we do.
Your fear is valid. Your need for specialized care is real. And we're here for you every step of the way.
