2 things about this case. The teeth are somewhat dark, the smile a little “gummy”. Anyone who meets this woman for the first time might not be “wowed” by the current smile. However, the way it was before treatment would definitely attract some negative attention. The point is, sometimes treatment is a huge success if it simply neutralizes a negative smile as opposed to creating a stellar one.
Second point. This took TWENTY FOUR WEEKS and ZERO attachments.

I am obsessed with a certain kind of thin, crispy, “red” looking pizza that you see at .nyc .pizza but I am not going to wait in line for an hour or har to order the pie and then come back in 3 hours. Who can tell me some neighborhood places in Manhattan with this style and also, why is it so hard to make pizza this good! It’s gotten to the point where the average decent NYC slice isn’t even appealing by comparison.

His cosmetic work is exceptional — and he made the smartest move for this patient: refer the patient to an orthodontist to align the teeth first, then consider cosmetics.

Crowded teeth trap plaque, stain faster, and irritate the gums.
Aligned teeth?
✅ easier to clean
✅ healthier gums

It’s hard to be perfect with retainers. This message needs to get out. It is not a failure if there is some small amount of regression from an ideal alignment. There are thousands and thousand of people wearing retainers that fit like this and it’s uncomfortable, ineffective and not sustainable. So if your child, or you, has a retainer that fits like this, just go back for a new retainer on the current tooth positions.

11 months pre-surgical orthodontics with followed by orthognathic surgery to correct maxillary cant and mandibular deviation. For jaw surgery that is primarily functional, minimal strategic ortho movement without extractions leaves the facial structure improved but not dramatically changed.
