This week, the BSc Fashion Buying and Retail Management students, as part of their Applied Marketing Research Module, presented their final posters for the live case study company - @ Victoria's Incredible Edibles (https://lnkd.in/eM5cq4Uu).

As part of their assessment brief, students were tasked with researching the potential market opportunities for a new product offering – 'Protein Bites’, along with testing packaging and labelling options for the new product among the 18–25-year-old market. The students gathered data via secondary research and primary research utilising online surveys, conducting interviews, taste testing and observation. The insights gathered were then used to determine if there was market potential for the product among this age cohort, and informed recommendations for the development of retail/marketing strategies. The students did a fantastic job of walking the client – Victoria, through their detailed findings.
Victoria said “as a small business owner, this research will make a significant difference to my decision to bring my protein bites to market. Launching a new product involves a lot of risks early in the development process, but this research will definitely help me mitigate these risks. The data and feedback gathered by the students will help me reduce the likelihood of making costly mistakes. Their findings have provided me with invaluable information that will undoubtedly shape the future of my business and the development of the new product, my protein bites. I am deeply grateful for the time and effort they have dedicated to this project".

Thank you Victoria Wilmott for providing the opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and gain real world experience.

**SETU Business Students excel in Reimagine Road Safety 2024 Challenge**

Over 800 students from across SETU, University of Limerick and Maynooth University have taken part in a ‘Reimagine Road Safety’ challenge, an initiative spearheaded by Dr. Christina O'Connor (Professor in Marketing at UL) and Sergeant Minister (Limerick Roads Policing).

This year the challenge was set around the topic of anti-drug driving. Students were tasked with creating a contemporary marketing concept that would reach 18–25-year olds.

The semester long challenge culminated today in the final poster showcase event at UL where the finalists showcased their impactful ideas. Over 160 SETU students from Year 2 Bachelor of Business (Hons) and BA (HONS) in International Business took part in the challenge with 6 Groups going through to the final. The showcase concluded with an awards ceremony, with prizes to the value of €8000 sponsored by ESB. We are delighted that SETU scooped two awards.

The overall SETU Business winners were Bachelor of Business (HONS) students: Alicia Burberry, Sophie O’Keeffe, Erin O’Reilly, Faye Tully, Sarah Reid, Keisha Ogieriakhi.

The runner up “Most visually impactful” poster was won by BA (HONS) International Business Students: Diana Kravchenko, Favour Titilayo, Janine Silva, Megan Murphy, Rimsha Sajid, Sam O’Mahony.

We are so very proud of all the SETU Business students that took part in this impactful initiative, the 6 finalists, and those that won prizes today. A big congratulations also goes to University of Limerick and Maynooth University student finalists and winners. It was a fantastic showcase of concepts.

Thank you to SETU IMC Lecturing Team: Dr. Anne-Marie Ivers, Dr. Fiona Whelan-Ryan and Ms. Sinead O'Keeffe
