Pinhole Sliding pedicle collagen gum rejuvenation: Sounds complicated but it’s not! Gum recession is a condition that millions of people suffer from: and the traditional procedures to treat can 1. Take many appointments, 2. Be painful and require a secondary surgical site to get grafted tissue from 3. Have a lot of bleeding and stitches. The Chao Pinhole technique utilizes specialized instrumentation with just 4 small holes, no cutting, no sutures. The results are beautiful, natural and pain free. This technique is amazing for people with multiple areas or a whole arch- it can all be done in one appointment! This is an example of a before and after (6 weeks healing) that Dr Kim performed. Notice- there was a grey line on one of the front teeth from a crown: pinhole not only covered it but the gingival is a healthy pink color again. The recession on both back teeth are plump and rejuvenated with collagen. Come in to see Dr Kim if you also feel you have thin, receding gums.

There are so many different techniques to soft tissue grafting that we do- however there are times when soft tissue grafting works amazingly well with the use of PDGF, bone grafting and either palatal tissue or collagen. The results looks natural and restores a youthful smile!
