Today, Michael was fit with a 3/4-length sub-ischial knee disarticulation socket. Watch the process—from the diagnostic check fitting, to assembly, and finally walking!

Michael has been wearing a prosthesis for just 1½ years, and getting to this point has taken a lot of hard work, patience, and determination. We’ve watched him challenge himself, put in the work, and become more confident with every step. Seeing how far he has come makes days like today especially rewarding. 💪

At the knee disarticulation level, the residual limb can tolerate 100% weight bearing through the end, providing an excellent foundation for comfort and stability.

And today, Michael felt great in this new socket. He was especially excited about the freedom and range of motion he felt at his hip.

It’s more than just a new socket—it’s another step forward in Michael’s journey. And after seeing how hard he’s worked to get here, it was pretty amazing to watch him walk out of the fitting feeling this good. 🙌

Keep going, Michael. We’re proud of how far you’ve come. 🔥

Robert walking with SWAG! 😎

Robert was fit with his new above-the-knee prosthesis featuring the Össur Navii® microprocessor knee and Össur Pro-Flex® XC Torsion dynamic foot.

The Navii is designed to provide a highly responsive and intuitive gait experience, with real-time adaptation to changes in walking conditions and terrain.

Key Navii features include:

• Instantaneous stance control for stability when weight is applied
• Stumble recovery technology to help provide resistance and support when balance is challenged
• Smooth swing-phase dynamics for a more natural gait
• Adaptive control for stairs, ramps and varying terrain
• Automatic activity recognition, including cycling and walk-to-run functionality
• Manual standing lock with three locking positions
• IP68 waterproof protection, designed for exposure to freshwater, saltwater, chlorine, sand and mud

Louis is a 78-year-old Air Force veteran who brings an incredible amount of positive energy wherever he goes. 🇺🇸

He recently made the switch to Prosthetics in Motion to our Melville, Long Island facility, where he was fit with a new above-knee socket and carbon frame designed to provide improved stability, comfort, and function.

Louis is utilizing the Ottobock C-Leg 4 microprocessor knee, giving him advanced stance and swing-phase control to support a more natural and confident gait.

We’re honored to be part of Louis’ journey and grateful for the opportunity to care for such a fine gentleman. Thank you for your service, Louis! 🇺🇸

Geno traveled all the way from Oregon for his new above-knee prosthetic socket, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. We love the tie-dye design—peace, love, and great prosthetic care! ☮️

His custom prosthesis features an ischial containment socket with a flexible inner socket for comfort and a carbon fiber laminated frame for strength, stability, and durability. This combination provides a secure fit while allowing all-day comfort and optimal function.

Geno is family, and we’re incredibly grateful for the trust he places in us. It means the world that so many of our patients travel long distances for their care. Thank you, Geno—we’re honored to be part of your journey.

Kent was recently fit with his new above-knee prosthesis and did an outstanding job🔥. We’re confident he’ll be walking independently without his cane in a short period of time.

Having worn a prosthesis for more than 50 years, Kent understands the importance of choosing the right technology. At , we encourage our patients to trial different prosthetic components to find the best combination for their lifestyle. Kent selected the BrainRobotics Kneuro microprocessor knee paired with the WillowWood META Shock X prosthetic foot.

The most important part of every prosthetic fitting is the socket. Kent’s new custom socket provided the stability, comfort, and confidence he needed, creating the foundation for improved mobility and long-term success.

Today, he was fit with the running knee and running foot, generously donated by Challenged Athletes Foundation

The Ossur Cheetah running knee is engineered specifically for high-impact activities, providing exceptional energy return, stability, and responsiveness for running. Paired with the Ossur Flex-Run foot—designed with advanced carbon fiber technology to maximize energy storage and return—this combination allows amputees to run with greater efficiency, confidence, and performance.

Today marked Sommer’s very first run through the streets of New York City, and he exceeded every expectation. Watching him take on this new challenge was truly inspiring.
