We hope everyone is well and staying safe! Thank you to everyone who reacted to our recent posts on our page and on Howard Beach Moms.
We decided to choose 2 winners for our Oral B Genius electric toothbrush raffle this week. Congratulations to Patriicia Mcmanus and Diane Marino-Coleman.
We continue to be open limited hours for emergency treatment Monday thru Thursday. We can also be reached at any time by voicemail or text at 917-253-8001. We anticipate resuming regular patient care starting in May.
Appointment times will be limited at the start. We will be reaching out to all with upcoming appointments to assist with scheduling changes. Please help us by calling ahead to assure your time on the schedule.

Don't forget about good oral hygiene! As we stay at home, many of us have the tendency to pick on different things throughout the day. Do your best to stay safe during this time and keep your mouth healthy. You may be overdue for your cleaning but you have the time to be more diligent at home.

A message from Grillo Family Dentistry

We hope this post finds you well in these difficult times. As we all stay at home as much as possible to flatten the curve and practice social distancing when we need to go out, I believe we all would love to know when our lives will begin to return to normal. I wish I could say that day will be soon, but in all likelihood it will take many months to return to what will be a new normal.
On March 16th the American Dental Association recommended all dental offices cease elective treatment for 3 weeks. We immediately rescheduled all existing non emergent appointments until April 13th. On March 20th, Governor Cuomo issued a directive moving the date to resume normal patient treatment to May 1st. These necessary actions have been very challenging for service businesses of all types to deal with on many levels.
We will get through this together. This letter is to inform you of the changes we are making as a result of what has been happening. Until May 1st our office will be open from Monday thru Thursday from 10 am to 5pm for emergent treatment only. During these hours we will be in the office to take your calls as well. After hours Dr. Grillo can be reached on the office emergency number, 917-253-8001 by voicemail or text.
As the virus situation improves we will all gradually begin to resume our normal lives. We need to do this carefully at the start. Starting May 1st we will change how we use our facility to better serve you. We will be using the newly renovated addition to our office for our senior citizens cleaning appointments (see our page for photos}. This office has its own waiting room and only one appointment will be booked at a time, limiting interpersonal contact for our most vulnerable patients and allowing our staff additional time for treatment rooms to be disinfected. We will also be limiting the number of patients seen in our original space for the same reasons. While there is no way to be certain, I assume that these changes will be in effect until early fall.
Your oral health is important and can affect your general wellness. We appreciate your patience as we handle scheduling changes together. We will be reaching out to all with upcoming appointments and will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs. Please feel free to call us to assist us with this task and assure your appointment times.
