On National Child Health Day, we’re reminding families that good oral health is an important part of a child’s overall health.

Healthy teeth allow children to eat comfortably, speak clearly, and focus on learning and growing without the distraction of dental pain. From preventive dental care to orthodontic treatment when needed, caring for a child’s mouth is an important part of caring for the whole child.

Happy National Chewing Gum Day!

Here’s something worth chewing on:
🦷 Sugar-free gum can actually be good for your teeth. Chewing it for about 20 minutes after a meal increases saliva, which helps wash away food and neutralize cavity-causing acids. Look for sugar-free gum with the ADA Seal of Acceptance.

🦷 But remember—gum is a helper, not a replacement for brushing and flossing!

🦷 Wearing braces? Check with your orthodontist before reaching for the gum.
