“Brian*” came to us with concerns about his bite and spacing issues. Although he had braces as a teen, his teeth had significantly shifted after he stopped wearing his retainer.

Brian presented with:

- A Class II malocclusion (lower jaw deficiency)

- A skeletal and dental anterior open bite (AOB) malocclusion with maxillary skeletal constriction

- Moderate crowding in the maxillary and mandibular dentition

- Posterior crossbites bilaterally

- Super-eruption of the mandibular incisors.

We presented Brian with several treatment options, including orthodontics combined with orthognathic (jaw) surgery. Wanting something less invasive and more discreet, he ultimately chose to pursue non-surgical treatment utilizing fixed orthodontic appliances (braces).

Braces were utilized to favorably modify the AOB, broaden the posterior segments within the confines of the periodontium, establish ideal overbite and overjet, camouflage the skeletal Class II malocclusion, relieve crowding, and establish ideal incisor occlusion.

Brian managed to finish his treatment plan right on time and is so excited about his new smile!
