Excellence in dentistry means investing in the best available training, implementing the most advanced technology, and using the highest quality materials. Unfortunately, these things are not obvious to a lay person. I’ve sought to invest in myself to be a better caregiver to my patients since my very first year as a dentist.

1 - I travelled to Scottsdale Arizona five times starting over a decade ago to complete the hands on curriculum.

2 - I’ll be completing the curriculum next. These are possibly the best courses in dentistry.

3 - with my friend and role model at Aesthetic Advantage with the best in the cosmetic world and

4 - PRP day at implant continuum, a series I completed in 2020. I was at the end of my three week clean eating reset with .ostwald and let’s just say my blood looked very different from everyone else 😂

5 - in Venice with for a trip led by the best rep out there

6 - dentists will tell you (in hushed, reverential tones) of decades old gold that is still as beautiful and functional as the day it was placed (I’ve seen ninety year old gold). It’s not for everyone but bringing back this lost art is high on my radar for the appropriate population. I have to find two more dentists to start our own New York branch of . Are you in .dmd ?

7 - and finally later this year to start implementing cutting edge 3D printing in the practice. Microns thin veneers printed for same day smile makeovers are in our near future!

Just kidding!
Nobody asked.
I'm going to talk about them anyway 💃🏻

Why integrity? You should be able to come to the dentist and know that we prioritize your best interests. Integrity means honesty, being guided by ethics, abiding by one’s own moral fiber. My patients are treated the way I hope my family would be treated. It’s a simple concept that is profound in application. Do good.

Developing an unshakable sense of integrity didn’t happen overnight. Ask me about what a terrible teenager I was some time. I’m fully prepared to have these two give it back to me one day 😅

It's the first day of a new year and I'm renewing my intentions.

As I've been working on building Flatiron Dental, I've thought deeply about my "why" and about what values I stand for.

Compassion in a dentist is foundational. We know this is not an easy place for you to come. When I see my patients I want to ease the burden of them being here. What can I do to soothe a person? How can I minimize pain? What are my patients seeing, smelling, tasting and hearing? My relationship with the five senses became a defined and purposeful endeavor as I was recovering from my own health hurdles. To have been a patient so thoroughly makes me a better doctor.

The core value of compassion also refers to the way in which my team is treated. To provide a meaningful livelihood is important to me as a business owner. What dreams can I support? How are we promoting and celebrating the people that help our world turn? I'll start building a team in the coming months. We want to work hard, do good, and have fun.

And finally, compassion refers to giving back. Since my very first days as a dentist I’ve sought to make a difference - volunteering to serve in remote Himalayan areas, donating my time every Friday at the Good Samaritan clinic, and supporting many great causes in our own community. Building this business is a way of empowering myself to have an impact in areas of great need. To whom much is given, much will be required. As parents, we strive to raise grateful children and my hope is to lead by example. More details soon!
