Hello Everyone,
As the 2023-24 application cycle opens today, and everyone is hustling to push in their application EARLY, there are a some things which I wanted to highlight.

1. EARLY application is important and definitely increases your chances of interview invites, but NOT at the cost of the ‘Quality’ of your application.
2. The QUALITY of your written Caapid application which also includes the supporting documents like SOP, LORs and supplemental questions is much more important than sending out an under prepared application. Their is no excuse for ill-prepared application and it will not help you even if you apply super early.
3. March month is considered ’EARLY’ and even Mid-April is great, so take your time and make sure to revise what you write in all the CAAPID application columns before you click send.

Another important aspect is understanding your profile and finding programs which suit your profile the best. DO NOT blindly apply to every school, just for the sake of it, as it is pure wastage of your money and efforts.
Carefully Pick and choose the programs based on your overall clinical+non-clinical experience, academic/GPA, Test scores (Toefl,Inbde,Adat) and Visa status to find out the best suited schools which will increase your chances or getting an invite.

One last thing, utilize the tools in CAAPID portal like Help, Live Chat and Calling when in doubt or unsure about what to write in that particular column, as things change every year so it’s best to get the information from the most relevant source.

So all the best to everyone applying this year, it can seem like and endless journey but their is light at the end of the tunnel. So follow your instincts and have faith in your hardwork, you will succeed!!

Getting your DDS license in the US as an International Dentist may seem quite overwhelming.
I have a quick tip to help you with entire process - break it into smaller parts.
So, I have a simple way to highlight and segregate all the major steps in the process of becoming a DDS/DMD.

How to get your DDS license in the US!!
✅Create your DENTPIN (It is Free)
✅Get evaluation report from ECE ( ~$200, 2-4 weeks)
✅Pass the INBDE (or I and II) (~$1200 fees and you need to come toCanada for the exam)
✅Take the TOEFL test
✅Applying for the programs of your choice via ADEA CAAPID
✅Graduate and get state license to practice
✅Living your dream 🧿😇

(Disclaimer - There may be some changes in the process every year so it is always best to confirm online on the website about any of these steps)

One year ago on this day, I embarked a new chapter of my life as I received my acceptance letter from NYU!!

Being my 1st cycle of applying and not having a standard profile, made me anxious about my hard-work and efforts which led to self-doubt!! But I decided to go against the odds, persevere and be resilient to all the negative thoughts…. Until I succeeded in turning my dreams into reality.

A word of advice-
So don’t let your self-doubt keep you from creating the life of your dreams.
The move that you're afraid to make because your self-doubt keeps telling you no, is the one that will change EVERYTHING.
- Stop second guessing yourself.
- Stop letting your self-doubt call the shots.

YOU have the power to go after what you want. Trust yourself and get to work.

“The person who asks a question is a fool for a minute, the man who
does not ask is a fool for life.”
- CONFUCIUS

Ask for help, ask questions from your friends, mentors and colleagues…. And find out what’s best for you with your faith and hard work.
