Calling all pre-dental students ‼️

Apply to join us for the 2026 HDA Student Regional and B.O.L.D. Workshop, hosted by the Hispanic Dental Association at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

This experience will bring together pre-dental students, dental students, faculty, and dental professionals from across the country. A major highlight of the Student Regional is the opportunity to learn from and network with Hispanic dental faculty, students, and professionals while gaining greater insight into the dental profession.

Selected B.O.L.D. Workshop participants will also have the opportunity to connect with current dental students, take part in interactive dental activities, explore the dental school, and learn more about the dental school journey from students representing Boston University, Harvard, and Tufts.

Dear Hispanic Dental Association Community,

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Roderick (Rod) Chavez as our new Executive Director.

Rod brings more than 15 years of executive leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, with a proven track record of guiding mission-driven organizations through growth, strategic alignment, and sustainable expansion. Over the course of his career—serving as chief executive across non-profit organizations and foundations—he has demonstrated exceptional skill in strengthening board governance, diversifying funding streams, building robust financial reserves, and fostering cross-sector partnerships.

With a background in communications and law, combined with deep operational expertise, Rod is uniquely equipped to strengthen the infrastructure of the HDA. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to advance our core mission: improving oral health in Hispanic and Latino communities, empowering our members, and amplifying our voice in oral health equity.

In his new role, Rod will work closely with our Board, corporate sponsors, regional chapters, and student leaders to enhance member value, expand our philanthropic reach, and ensure long-term organizational sustainability.
