Born and raised right here in Lafayette, Dr. Melanie Hebert brings experience, warmth, and a whole lot of heart to our team. She’s an LSU and LSU School of Dentistry grad, a creative at heart, and a big believer in helping kids feel comfortable, confident, and excited to take care of their smiles.

When she’s not making teeth sparkle, you might find her painting, crafting, spending time outdoors, or soaking up the sunshine. 🎨☀️

Instead of turning bedtime into a full courtroom drama, try making brushing a little more visual.

Brush together. Let them look in the mirror. Use a timer. Have them show you the “front, back, top, and tongue” routine. Make it feel like a challenge instead of a chore.

Kids are still learning coordination, consistency, and why brushing matters. A little guidance goes a long way.

October is Orthodontic Health Month, so let’s talk about growing smiles. 🦷

Kids’ teeth and jaws are constantly changing, and regular pediatric dental visits help us keep an eye on how everything is developing.

Sometimes we’re watching spacing, checking how adult teeth are coming in, or looking at bite changes, early tooth loss, or habits that may affect alignment.

Flossing with kids is not for the weak. 😅

One second they’re cooperating. The next, they’re suddenly boneless, upside down, or asking why floss exists in the first place.

Here’s the thing: once teeth start touching, a toothbrush can’t clean everything on its own. Floss helps reach the tiny spaces where plaque and food like to hide.

Start simple. Make it quick. Use kid-friendly flossers if they help. Celebrate effort over perfection.
