KINDNESS…Pass it on!!

As a parent, one of my biggest hopes is that I can inspire a strong work ethic in my children. That’s why I was so excited when my 8 year old son, Ollie, decided he wanted to have a lemonade stand so that he could buy an NBA jersey (I’m more of a Jordan fan, but nevermind that).

Ollie set up shop in front of my office and got to work. So many patients were so kind to purchase some lemonade, and a few purposely overpaid, but one customer in particular stood out to me.

Bryson, a teenager who had come in to fix a retainer, started asking Ollie what he was he was saving for and when Ollie told him, apparently he decided he wanted to make sure Ollie had enough for his jersey. Bryson bought a lemonade but went to the car and came back with a $20 bill just to make sure Ollie got over the hump. He also made sure to tell Ollie to send him a picture when he got his jersey. To most of us, this wouldn’t be a big deal, but to Ollie, this jersey and this older cool kid making sure he could get it meant the world. When Ollie told me about this, it really struck a chord… so Ollie and I decided we were gonna hook Bryson up with every kid’s fave (and my fave too)… some Jordans.

Bryson is a really cool dude…his mom tells me he’s been really working hard and doing well in school and plans on being a lawyer or an orthodontist…. Bryson…. Keep striving for greatness and letting your heart show! Thanks for making an impact on my son!

In other news… looks like we’re gonna have a lemonade stand in front of the office more often (toothbrush included).
