At our practice, we have been providing comprehensive dentistry and orthodontic care for children, teenagers, and children with special needs for 12 years. Our team is also on staff at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital to provide hospital care and general anesthesia to patients in need. Notice a new tooth growing in behind a baby tooth that hasn’t fallen out yet? 🦈🦷 That’s what we call “shark teeth,” and it’s more common than you’d think!

Most of the time, the baby tooth will loosen and fall out on its own within a few weeks as the permanent tooth pushes it out. Wiggling it gently can help move things along.
