Now that school's out for all of our area school districts, let summer begin! A special congratulations to all who graduated this year, and we wish you all the best in whatever your next step is.

In the meantime, we'll see you downtown! This is one of our favorite times of year - when Naperville is alive with people enjoying the shops, restaurants, and outdoor recreation. There are so many reasons we love the location of our cozy dental office, and the community atmosphere this time of year is one of them.

Today, we remember and honor our heroes. 🕊️🇺🇸

From the early morning ceremonies at the G.A.R. Monument to the 10:30 AM parade through downtown, Naperville is a beautiful place to be this Memorial Day.

As you enjoy the parade and the ceremony at Central Park, let’s take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the day. At 3:00 PM, all are invited to pause for the National Moment of Remembrance to honor our fallen heroes.

We are so grateful to live and serve in a community that honors its veterans so deeply. Wishing all of our patients and neighbors a meaningful Memorial Day.

It’s not just a random number! Here’s the reason for the two-minute timer ⏳:

1️⃣ The "Missed Spots" Factor: Most people think they’re finished after 45 seconds. In that time, it’s almost impossible to reach every surface of every tooth. Two minutes gives you enough time to clean the fronts, backs, and chewing surfaces thoroughly.

2️⃣ Plaque is Persistent: Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria. It takes physical agitation to break it up. A quick "swipe and rinse" leaves your teeth at risk for cavities.

3️⃣ Give Fluoride a Chance: If you use fluoride toothpaste, it needs time to sit on your enamel to help remineralize and strengthen your teeth. A two-minute scrub ensures your teeth actually benefit from the ingredients!

Pro Tips: Divide your mouth into four sections (top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right) and spend 30 seconds on each! Need help passing the time? Brush along to your favorite song chorus or use a timer app!

✅ Lingering sensitivity to hot or cold foods and liquids.
✅ Severe decay or a sudden injury to the tooth.
✅ Swelling or tenderness in the gums.

Ever wonder what actually happens during a root canal? 🤔 It’s a straightforward process designed to save your natural tooth and get you out of pain!

Here is a step-by-step look at how we restore your smile:
1️⃣ Access: We create a small opening in the top of the tooth to reach the pulp chamber.
2️⃣ Cleaning: Using specialized tools, we gently remove the diseased or infected tissue from the canals.
3️⃣ Shaping & Sealing: The canals are shaped and then sealed with a biocompatible material called gutta-percha to prevent future infection.
4️⃣ Restoration: Finally, the tooth is built up for a crown. Because a tooth can become brittle after treatment, a crown is usually necessary to protect it from fracturing!
