What is Arestin?
Simply put, Arestin is a very low dose antibiotic that we can put directly into your gums to help treat gum infection.

It is used to treat periodontitis and helps:

Kill bacteria in infected areas

Reduce swelling in the gums

Help the gums tighten back around the teeth

Improve healing after a deep cleaning

After a deep cleaning, we place Arestin into the spaces between your teeth and gums, which are called pockets.

It slowly releases medicine over time and works directly in the infected area.

It is important to know that it is not a replacement for deep cleaning, it’s an extra treatment.

Arestin stays in your gums, and you shouldn’t floss or use toothpicks in the treated area for about 10 days.

Arestin is a targeted antibiotic of 1 mg of minocycline, placed right where your gum infection is, to help your gums heal better after a deep cleaning.

Jennifer joined our office in the fall of 2024 and has over 34 years of experience in general and periodontal dentistry. She graduated from Sounthern Illinois University with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene and with a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management in 1992.
Jennifer strives to provide gentle, thorough, and individualized care for each patient. She is passionate in partnering with patients to improve their oral and in general overall health.
She and her husband have two sons and 1 spoiled dog. Their family enjoys traveling. When not at work, she enjoys spending time scrapbooking, fishing, camping and just enjoying the outdoors.

Tooth sensitivity? You’re not alone, and there are solutions.

Hope everyone is getting back for their check ups . We have masks , gloves shields gowns , equipement to help with air quality and all the wipes sprays for disinfecting surfaces plus all the sterilization that has always been done .
Not to mention our distancing protocols.
