We get this question all of the time! It is recommended to have an evaluation somewhere around age 7, when the permanent incisors (front teeth) are coming in. Does that mean if you come in we will recommend starting treatment? Absolutely not, in fact, most of the children we see at that age will only need one phase of treatment when they are a few years older. But for the ones who can benefit, two phase treatment can be more effective in treating the severe problems and taking advantage of growth.
