All eyes on our talented expanded dental function assistants, Janelle and Kacey, as we recognize them for Dental Assistant Appreciation Week! Our patients receive quality and comfortable care because of their hard work, dedication and passion.

Janelle has been an assistant for over 10 years, and has been with Dr. Johnson 3 of those years! She enjoys surgeries and seeing the confidence boost of our patients after smile transformations. We love when she bakes for our staff!

Kacey has been with our office for almost 6 years! She enjoys assisting Dr. Whetsell in cosmetic procedures and has a special eye for detail. We love hearing her crush all the trivia questions Dr. Whetsell asks her!

Thanks to dental x-rays, dentists have x-ray vision!

Dental x-rays are safe because they consist of a negligible amount of radiation. Without x-rays, dentists are unable to properly diagnose disease of the teeth, gums and jaws. Teeth can appear healthy clinically, but actually are not healthy because they have cavities on a surface we can’t see or have bone loss or an abscess. It’s actually more unsafe for dentist to diagnose without x-rays than to take the x-rays.

Following the American Dental Association guidelines, our doctors recommend routine bitewing x-rays annually and a panoramic x-ray every 3-5 years.

Trust us when we say it gets easier with practice!
