My name is Miriana, I am 29 years old. I have been in the medical field since I was 17 years old. I worked as a Medical Assistant for 4 years then I became a certified phlebotomist, but somehow I ended up as a Dental Assistant for almost 8 years now 😅. I am a mother to an amazing 8 year old boy named Xavier who is also a patient of our practice 🥰

🏕️ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲?

I am a very outdoorsy and family oriented person. On my free time I love to spend time with my son, my family, my friends and my boyfriend. I enjoy going on hikes and exploring new places. I also love traveling and camping, every year my entire family and I go camping. I also love to do Pilates on my free time!

🦷 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁?

I am able to make a difference for the better in children's lives on a daily basis, by educating them on how to properly care for the health of their teeth starting from such a young age. My job is also more hands on and that makes it more of a learning and enjoyable experience for me.

I've also always had and obsession for beautiful and healthy teeth ever since I was a child 😅.

I grew up in Westchester and now live in Queens with my husband, Andrew, and our two very silly and sweet children.

I attended Haverford College and then earned my doctorate at the University at Buffalo school of Dental Medicine, where I fell in love with Pediatric Dentistry. I completed residency at Brookdale Hospital and spent time practicing in NJ before I joined the Dentistry for Children family!

I love to get outside with the family and explore the city. You can often find us at a playground, a museum, or listening to live music.

I love being able to work with children and help them find their confidence in the dental chair. It’s so fun getting to know the families I work with and seeing everyone grow up over the years.

There is no better feeling than giving back to our community and that is why we have teamed up with to 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝟯-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿-𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 from our Adelante Juntos (Parent-Child Together) program!

These little students will be graduating in mid June and our goal is to provide at least 𝟮𝟱 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 filled with school supplies, but 𝗪𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣!! 👶🏻🎓

Happy ✨ Feature Friday✨ !!! This week the spotlight goes to one of our orthodontists, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗚𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗚𝗶𝗹𝗹, 𝗗𝗠𝗗!! She is so sweet & kind and it is our pleasure to work with her in the office! ✨ 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳!

I grew up in Westchester County and feel extremely lucky to live close to my family. After studying art and math at NYU, I met my husband, Dr. Dan (!), in our first year of dental school at Harvard. We are the proud parents of two silly, energetic toddlers.

I love spending time with my family, hiking, and crafting (anything from knitting to painting) with a cup of hot tea.

I have wanted to be an orthodontist since I was about 8 years old. I was inspired by my own orthodontist, Dr. Gerald Gardner, and my siblings’ teeth - both had much more exciting cases than my own. Becoming an orthodontist is one of the best decisions of my life!

✨ 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳!

I was born and raised in Meriden, CT. My parents are from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. I have a younger brother and come from a very close-knit family. I have the cutest 4 year old god-daughter. I am the first and only dentist in my family. Also, I am a “triple Husky”, meaning that I went to UConn for my undergraduate degree, my dental degree, and for my pediatric dentistry residency.

📚 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲?

I am an avid reader. So, I spend a good portion of my spare time with my nose in a book 🤓

🦷 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁?

I was always into the sciences and knew I wanted to go into a health profession when I was growing up. I was also the weird kid that loved going to the dentist, so I started shadowing my family dentist and really enjoyed my time there. During my dental studies, I decided to specifically go into pediatric dentistry because I wanted provide kids with the same happy feeling I had every time I went to the dentist growing up.

🤗 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗙𝗖 𝗬𝗼𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲?

I am going to cheat and give two of my favorite things. First and foremost, I love the staff that I work with day in and day out. Secondly, I love the diversity of the patients seen at the Yonkers office. As stated previously, I am Puerto Rican, so being able to give back to the Spanish speaking community is very satisfying.

I’ve lived in Elmsford for the majority of my life. I have 3 siblings. Also, I am very grateful for my parents and all that they have done for us to strive for a better life.

Funny thing is, I actually was not planning on becoming a dental assistant, I was just finishing up with school. However, when the opportunity knocked at my door, I immediately said yes, I will go for it! It meant growth as a person and to learn more so I decided to take the leap & go for it !

I travel to all offices when needed & I adore the staff in every office. They are all welcoming & joyful to be around. Every office is special in its own way. Overall, my favorite part about all offices is the staff & doctors who make it worthwhile. In addition, going into the operating room can be overwhelming for many, but I love being there and assisting the doctors and making sure patients get the proper care they need.

I was born and raised in Yonkers. My parents are from Mexico 🇲🇽. I have 5 sisters and 1 brother. I have 2 children; My daughter is 13 and my son is 12. I have a 3 year old American bulldog that is my baby. 🐶 I have been happily married to my husband for 11 years.

My staff ❤️🫶🏼 is hands down the best part of working at the Yonkers location. We see many kids that are scared of coming to the dentist. Knowing that you can help an anxious/scared child overcome the fear of being at the dental office is a very rewarding feeling.

I was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. I am the first dentist in my family. My parents are from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴. I attended Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, NYU Winthrop Hospital for General Practice Residency, and St. Barnabas Hospital for Pediatric Residency.

I love staying active and lifting weights. Most days I’m up by 4am to start my morning routine and hit the gym. 💪🏻

Dentistry is a career that allows me to give back to the community, which has always been a priority of mine. I love working with kids and making their experience at the dentist more enjoyable.

I was born and raised in Yonkers, New York to immigrant Parents from Portugal 🇵🇹 and Brazil 🇧🇷. I have been happily married to my husband, Antonio, for 23 years. We are blessed with 3 beautiful children - twin 20 year old boy & girl and an almost 12 year old, very energetic, little boy.

What inspired me to take on this role was my ability to make our patients along with their parents feel comfortable, greeting them daily with a friendly smile and comforting words. Now, it is so rewarding to ✨𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲✨for checkups.

On the weekends you can catch me on the sidelines cheering on my little guy whether it be baseball or soccer. I also enjoy catching up with friends over dinner and drinks.

My favorite part about the office is my staff. We are a family here - a group of moms who motivate one another.

My family and I are members of a Portuguese Folklore Dance group. We perform traditional dances at various Portuguese Festivals throughout the year.

𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗲 is our 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 and she provides support to the doctors & staff and helps coordinate services at all of our offices. DFC could not function without her!!! We also got to celebrate her birthday this week!! 🥳🎂

My family is from Pleasantville, NY. My Italian-American grandparents built Daniele’s Auto Body Shop in 1934, and it employed most of my family members. I grew up playing in the shop yard with my two younger brothers and cousins.

I love weightlifting! I’ve been doing CrossFit for about 3 years now and I’m obsessed with it. Shout out to my gym 💪🏼 When I don’t have a barbell in my hands I enjoy hiking the many mountains ⛰️ and trails of the Hudson Valley.

Prior to taking this position I was in public healthcare for almost 15 years. I believe that each child deserves the absolute best of care and our doctors specialize in treating the unique needs of children. We participate with most all insurances including the Medicaid managed care plans so access to care is not a challenge.

The diverse community and the food. My two favorite restaurants are Badageoni Georgian Kitchen 🇬🇪 and Nolvi’s Taco Loco.
