At Smiles by Hazen, our hygiene team is focused on more than just cleaning teeth. We believe patients deserve to feel comfortable, informed, and genuinely cared for during every visit.

Our wellness hygienists take time to explain what they’re seeing, answer questions without judgment, and personalize care based on each patient’s needs and overall health goals.

One of the biggest things we see during the summer?
Frequent sugary snacks and acidic drinks throughout the day increasing the risk for cavities and enamel wear.

A few simple reminders can help protect your child’s smile all season long:

✔ Brush 2x/day

✔ Avoid constant sipping on sugary or acidic drinks

I still remember watching a patient in my dad’s dental office try in a new set of dentures.

For the first time in years, he could speak clearly again.

I still remember the emotion in the room. The patient was crying. His wife was crying. The entire team was crying. In that moment, I realized dentistry was so much more than fixing teeth.

It was about restoring confidence, health, and quality of life.

That experience is what led me into dentistry, and for the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving patients and families throughout Central Florida.

Over the years, my philosophy has continued to evolve.

Today, I’m passionate about wellness dentistry and focusing on the bigger picture: the oral microbiome, whole-body health, and creating strong, balanced bites that are not only beautiful, but functional and built to last for decades.

But more than anything, the relationships are what mean the most to me.

One of my favorite parts of practicing for this long is truly knowing my patients. Watching families grow. Hearing life updates at appointments. Celebrating milestones together. Being trusted with someone’s health year after year is something I never take for granted.

Biofilm is the sticky bacterial layer that builds up on teeth, gums, restorations, implants, and even under the gumline. Traditional cleanings often rely heavily on hand scraping. GBT approaches it differently.

Using warm water, guided airflow, and ultra-fine powder technology, we’re able to target harmful bacteria in a way that is:
