🥰What a sweet 🍩surprise today! Savana, one of our traditional intern students, surprised our team with 🍩doughnuts AND the sweetest card for our 🦷team! Thank you Savana!!!🦷😁

Savana is one of our five interns this semester and we have loved having them all learn and experience what practicing ‘Dentistry with Heart’ means. One of the best parts of these internships is getting to know the students and how wonderful they are! We appreciate their willingness to learn and adapt while they develop their professional skills alongside our team.

We were so excited to wrap up Teacher Appreciation Week with sandwiches at B.H. Tharrington!
Flowers were the theme this week and we shared information about joining the 🌸2026 Pollinator 🦋🐝Census on August 21st at the ! Thank you to for providing the opportunity for kids and adults to learn about the importance of pollinators and their habitats!
With summer break in clear view😎, we also shared the summer schedules for Surry County’s local farmers markets- !!

We are very proud of these three ladies! Reese (L., Junior), Reese (W., Senior) and Jordan (Senior) completed their traditional internships with our office and today was their ‘Traditional Intern Showcase’ at Surry Central High School!

They completed project posters and Reese W. completed an additional poster for her honors project. Her honors project was an education poster for Oral Cancer and the risk factors involving teens and young adults! Reese completed training with and training for our recent Dentistry with Heart free dental day, where every patient received the advanced oral cancer screening!

We have loved our student interns and pre-apprentice students this semester!


Our students have had a busy semester learning about the many facets of our dental practice. Recently, several students participated in our free dental day event and some also attended student career fairs at local schools. Hearing first-hand how enjoyable and beneficial an internship experience can be, has helped other students inquire with their CTE Teacher/Career Counselor for their own opportunity!

Thank you to Sharia Templeton, Angela Mayfield and Candy Willard for their partnership and for their leadership in their respective programs to help these young ladies grow and develop their professional career paths!

👩🏻‍🎓Congratulations to four of our five students who are graduating in a few weeks! The future of oral healthcare is bright! 🦷

Dentistry with Heart 2026💙🦷💙

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who helped make a huge success! Last Saturday was full of big smiles and bigger hearts! Enjoy this snapshot 🎥from our favorite day of the year!

We appreciate every individual and every company/business/organization who helped spread the word about our free dental day! We have so many generous supporters who donated their products and/or educational materials and resources to share with patients or volunteers.

Our nearly 80 volunteers enjoyed Chick-fil-A Mount Airy for breakfast-chicken minis❤️🐄 are THE BEST way to start our busy day! Thank you to Chad Tidd, Melissa White AND their entire team for always being top-notch and sharing your generosity with us for our team of volunteers!

Mill Creek General Store provided our volunteers a huge variety of sandwiches for lunch! They have donated lunch for this event for several years now and our volunteers LOVE THEIR 🥪 selection of sandwiches🥐! Our new volunteers were already making plans for lunch the following week at Mill Creek!

The wonderful team at Gates Pharmacy donated 💊prescription antibiotics and pain relieving medication for patients! Thank you Dr. Neil Edlen and Luke Morrison for your support of this community event! Your donations helped so many people go home with the medication they needed!💙
