⬇️ Learn more The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. Our program has received full accreditation status each seven year accreditation cycle. The Dental Hygiene Program is a two-year degree program. Upon completion of the program, graduating students will receive an Associate in Arts Degree in Dental Hygiene and will qualify to take the National and State Board Dental Hygiene Examinations. Successful passage of the examinations qualifies the graduate to practice dental hygiene in the State of California. The Moreno Valley College Dental Hygiene Program is celebrating over ten years of educating oral healthcare professionals. We are located on the Moreno Valley College campus in a facility that has state-of-the-art equipment and provides an environment that supports patient-centered preventive treatment. WHAT IS A REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST (RDH)? A registered dental hygienist is an oral health professional licensed in dental hygiene who provides preventive, educational and therapeutic services supporting total health through the promotion of optimal oral health. Dental hygiene is a rapidly growing profession. Department of Labor advises that dental hygiene is projected to be one of the 30 fastest growing occupations. Population growth and greater retention of natural teeth will stimulate demand for dental hygienists. California statistics (California Employment Development Department) concur, projecting very strong growth in the number of opportunities available for registered dental hygienists, a trend driven by the public's heightened awareness of the importance of regular dental care and an aging population with extended dental care need. Happy National Dental Hygiene Month!💜

This October, we celebrate dental hygienists and the important role they play in promoting oral health through prevention, patient education, and advocacy.

Dental hygienists do more than clean teeth — they empower patients, prevent oral health problems, and help build healthier communities.

Join the Moreno Valley College Dental Hygiene Program in celebrating the profession and the dedicated individuals who make a difference, one smile at a time!

Members of our Dental Hygiene Class of 2027 joined the Moreno Valley College community on September 29 for the Hispanic & Latinx Celebration!

We love seeing our students step outside the clinic to participate in campus events and celebrate the cultures and communities that make MVC so special.

Thank you to our students for representing the Dental Hygiene Program and joining in the celebration! 🦷

Our Class of 2028 Dental Hygiene students recently participated in an interprofessional learning activity with Moreno Valley College Paramedic students from the Ben Clark Training Center.

Working alongside students from another healthcare discipline gives our students the opportunity to learn from one another, strengthen communication and teamwork, and better understand the important role each healthcare professional plays in patient care.

We love creating opportunities for our students to connect, collaborate, and learn across professions!

Some of our senior Dental Hygiene students recently spent time on campus sharing information about the MVC Dental Hygiene Clinic and the FREE services available to our community.

Our students provide dental hygiene care while gaining valuable clinical experience under the supervision of licensed dental hygiene faculty and dentists.

Services include dental cleanings, periodontal therapy (deep cleanings), dental X-rays, preventive services, and more — at no cost to our patients.

We’re proud of our Class of 2027 for representing the program and helping connect our community with dental hygiene care!
