One common question we get asked is why is 100mm from the incisal edge to the center of the hinge axis used as the standard for average anatomic value for facebows?

Dr. John Kois found that approximately 80% of all patients are within 5mm of the average 100mm distance (across different ethnic backgrounds and genders). These values are corroborated by both Bonwill’s Equilateral Triangle and Monson’s Spherical Theory.

Say goodbye to spending your day mixing plaster!

One of our newer products that you might not be aware of are our digital transfer adapters. They give you an easy way to mount printed models on a full sized articulator without the use of plaster. The digital adapters are compatible with most articulators, and models can be easily mounted and removed by sliding them on and off.

As some of you may know, Dr. Robert Williams (my father) founded AD2 in 2005. He spent many years lecturing globally thanks to some major dental influences in his life. One of his teachers, Dr. Tom Basta, passed away last week so my father wrote a tribute to him and Dr. Ron Roth called "North Star". It's posted here for all to read and learn from.

The new products continue to roll out! We've expanded on our successful mounting plate line with a new Bio-Art/Artex magnetic mounting plate. This plate can be used as a direct replacement for the black Bio-Art "rail" plate and the blue Artex plate (for use on newer, carbon fiber articulators that do not have Splitex bases). As with all of our plates, you can look forward to saving around 50% as compared to buying from the original manufacturer.

It is with heavy heart that I am letting everyone know that Carlos Cruz passed away on December 16th in the afternoon. He was with close friends and family and peacefully passed on. If anyone has questions, I'll do my best to reply to emails and calls concerning this.
