Dear Patients, Parents, and Families,

I want to give you a short update about what is going on in the world of orthodontics due to the Corona Virus pandemic. As you may or may not be aware, the Governor, the Alabama Department of Public Health, and the Board of Dental Examiners of the state of Alabama have mandated that all non-essential dental work be postponed until the pandemic has subsided enough for us to treat our patients safely. As it now stands we are under this mandate through April 30. It will be revisited by the governing authorities and adjusted as needed.

Unfortunately this specifically rules out all orthodontic treatment that is not an emergency. Orthodontic emergencies have been defined as anything causing pain, potential infection, or situations that potentially harm the patient. If any of you have any problems that you feel that I should address I ask you to call our office (334-277-2980) between 9am and 1pm Monday through Thursday. We have an emergency number that can be accessed after business hours.

I appreciate your patience during this trying time and I ask each of you to pray for those patients who have contracted the illness, their families, their friends and our nation as we all strive to get back to normal. We will be stronger and better after this is all over.
