Even well-meaning phrases can sometimes make the dentist feel bigger or scarier than it needs to be. Instead of focusing on what won’t happen, focus on what they can expect: meeting friendly people, learning about their teeth, and practicing healthy habits.

Walking into a new environment can already feel overwhelming for kids. New faces, new sounds, new experiences. Their nervous system may already be on high alert.
A gentle voice, slower pace, and giving children time to feel comfortable can go a long way in building trust.
