Dr. Gegzna, or Dr. G as his patients call him, has always had an interest in healthcare but before becoming a dentist, he worked as a commercial pilot. He logged over 2,500 hours flying charters, corporate aircraft, and even flew traffic watch for the evening news. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Gegzna and his wife moved to Mobile where he has practiced dentistry in a variety of offices for over 8 years. Dr. Gegzna has also supported our armed services by filling in as the dentist at the U.S. Embassy, the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center, and the Balad Air Force Base in Iraq. Now that Dr. G is back from the Middle East, he is ready for his next adventure at Rabbit Creek Dental!

“I get so nervous about going to the dentist. I just visited here for the first time yesterday and from the moment I walked in I felt a peace. Every person I encountered there is so kind and attentive and genuinely cared about me. Highly recommend!”

Wondering how long it takes for an extraction site to heal? Here's the real timeline — and why patience pays off.

**First 24 hours:** Blood clot forms (this is good — don't disturb it). Swelling starts. Take it easy.

**Week 1:** Swelling peaks around day 3, then starts going down. The socket begins filling in with new tissue. You'll still feel tender.

**Weeks 2–3:** Soft tissue keeps healing. You can usually go back to normal eating by now. The hole is still there, but it's closing.

**Months 2–3:** The real magic happens underneath. Bone starts filling in where the tooth was.

**Months 4–6+:** Full bone healing takes time — sometimes longer if it was a tough extraction or a big tooth.

The timeline varies based on the tooth, your age, and how well you follow aftercare. Dr. G and the team will give you specific instructions after your extraction — following them cuts healing time and keeps complications away.

Got questions about extraction recovery? We're here to help. Give us a call at 251-308-0584 or swing by the office Monday–Thursday.

Halloween's almost here, and we know the candy bowl is coming. 🎃

Here's the real talk: you don't have to skip the fun. Some treats are actually way better for your teeth than others. Chocolate? Pretty decent — it washes off easier. Hard candies and sticky stuff? Those are the villains. They stick around and feed the bacteria that cause cavities.

Our advice: let the kids enjoy Halloween (it's one night!), but steer them toward chocolate over lollipops, and skip the gummies if you can. Drink water after eating candy, brush before bed — and honestly, a lot of parents find that their kids forget about half the haul anyway.

If you've got questions about what your family ate, or if anyone needs a post-Halloween checkup, we're here Monday–Thursday. No judgment, just good care.

Happy haunting. 🦷

Cleanings, fillings, crowns — it all counts, and the end of the year gets busy fast. We're here Monday through Thursday and happy to help you figure out what your plan covers before December 31st.

First dental visit AND first cleaning — and this little one handled it like a total pro. 😎 Cartoons on the TV, a gentle team, and apparently the dental chair is a pretty cool place to hang out. We love being part of these firsts. If your little one hasn't had their first visit yet, we'd love to be that for your family too.

“I highly recommend Rabbit Creek Dental. The staff from the front office to the technicians and dentists are awesome. I have a bit of dental phobia but was totally relaxed.”
