Do you ever miss you patients? 🙋🏻♀️
Often the pictures that we see with before and afters make things look simple and easy, but in reality they are just the cover of the book. To get there most of the times there has been a journey of planning and different treatment phases to finally get the results we want. Through that journey I get to see my patients often, we talk, and get to share on things about work, family life, kids, upcoming events like weddings, graduations, kids going to college, child births, grandkids, retirement, trips, sometimes sad things like the passing of a family member, divorce, sickness... I care for them, we create a bond, so when I don’t see them as frequent because they are only coming for their maintenance twice a year, or they have moved away... I find myself thinking of them, wondering how they are doing, missing them.🫶
For this great guy, we started our journey stabilizing gingivitis and caries, he did not smile much, then we did clear aligner therapy with Invisalign, a long difficult case with posterior cross bite, then finally we completed the restorative phase doing composite veneers. Now he has a much more confident smile and I don’t see him often, still wishing him the best!
