Recently, another individual examined this pony, who was cocking his head while eating and packing a substantial amount of feed. I found that this molar was so loose that I was able to extract it with a single movement.
He should be feeling much better!

The Henneke Body Condition Score is an effective method for assessing a horse’s body condition. One of the most prevalent causes of weight loss in equines is dental issues. Sharp enamel points can lead to ulceration on the cheeks and tongue, while loose teeth can cause discomfort and pain during feeding. Malocclusions can result in difficulty chewing and excessive feed loss.
To prevent these problems for your horse, it is recommended to schedule annual examinations with an experienced equine dental technician or veterinarian (in certain circumstances).

Do not wait until your horse’s body score reaches the lower end of the scale. Please contact me today to schedule an appointment and ensure that your horse’s dental needs are addressed before the onset of winter.

Big #6 hooks on this guy with matching lower 11s. Should be feeling much better after his float. We worked on 10 horses today (9 with no sedation 😃) at Turnt Training and Barrel Horses. Best of luck to Jayde as she heads to Youth Worlds!
