August 28th 2017 marks the 45-year anniversary for Dentistry for Children & Adults Too! In a then small, but growing community, Dentistry for Children opened their doors and hearts to San Francisco Bay Area children and families on August 28th 1972. Founded by pediatric dentist Dr. Michael Harris and Dr. Charles Clayton, Dentistry for Children began a legacy of treating ver
y young and apprehensive children along with children with special needs, all without the need for sedation or general anesthesia. “This is a unique and invaluable service we offer to parents and their children who want to avoid the potential risks and costs associated with sedation and general anesthesia” said Dr. Cho. The original office on Park Victoria played home to thousands of children before moving to their current larger location at 468 E. Dr. Benjamin Cho joined the practice in 1998 after graduating from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. Dr. Cho trained under the expert tutelage of pediatric dentist Dr. Michael Harris, so it was a natural transition when Dr. Harris retired leaving the practice in the very capable hands of Dr. Cho (who patients call “Gentle Ben” or "Dr. Toe") and a long term staff. The 2,400-square foot Calaveras office was designed to set the patients and parents at ease in a clean and modern environment. “The office and the chairs were custom designed to make the kids as comfortable as possible and the area around them is open so they can see other kids” Dr. Cho said. A lot of time and effort is also spent easing children’s fears. “Our biggest challenge is to try to help a child who is apprehensive not to be afraid to go to the dentist,” said Dr. Cho. “It’s most satisfying when that happens.” “We’ve enjoyed watching the generations grow up and then bring their families here,” said Dr. Benjamin Cho “and we are proud to have served the children and adults of the Milpitas community for nearly 5 decades.”
Dentistry for Children & Adults Too! provides a comprehensive range of dental services for infants, children, teens, patients with special needs, as well as dental services for adults.
