Dear Dental Family,
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. After many weeks of being closed, we are excited to reopen our office on Monday, May 11, 2020. If you had an appointment during our office closure, we will be contacting you over the next few weeks. If you have an upcoming scheduled appointment, we will call to confirm your appointment. Due to some of the measures that we are putting in place for safety, we may need to adjust appointment times and dates. We apologize for any inconvenience as we work through this challenging time.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our office follows the recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Patient safety is paramount and we have implemented policies that exceed recommendations.
For the protection of our patients and staff, we have made the following changes:
- When we call to confirm your appointment, you will be asked routine COVID-19 screening questions. If you have a fever, any respiratory or GI symptoms, a sudden loss of taste or smell, have traveled outside of the area in the last 14 days, and /or have tested positive for or have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, we will help you reschedule your appointment.
- In an effort to limit use of communal pens and clipboards, please go to our website, midlodental.com to print a COVID-19 consent form if possible. Please bring the signed form with you to your appointment. Once you arrive, your temperature will be taken, the screening questions reviewed and the consent form will need to be signed if not done so already.
- We will require you to wear a mask or face covering to your appointment, unless you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing one.
- In order to reduce the number of people in the office we ask all adult and teen patients to enter the office alone. Children or adults that need medical assistance are allowed to be accompanied by one adult.
- Once you arrive, please call the front desk (804-794-8745) and stay in your car until escorted into the office by a staff member.
- You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines and children’s toys since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. We will be disinfecting the common area, including door k***s, seats, and countertops on a regular basis.
- Initially we will be limiting the number of providers working at the same time in order to allow for social distancing between all persons in the office. As a result we will have fewer appointment options available. We will do our very best to accommodate your schedule.
- All staff will be screened daily for symptoms related to COVID-19
- We will be using the highest level of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available including N95 masks, face shields and disposable gowns. We are increasing the number of already existent air purifiers in the office. Also, we have intra oral and extra oral suction units that greatly reduce aerosols and HOCL disinfecting foggers arriving soon.
