Oak Springs Dental

Oak Springs Dental Very few dental practices in Miami Lakes can truly call themselves a full-service facility. However, this is what we do at Oaks Springs Dental.

We are here to address all of your dental needs starting from routine cleaning and so much more! Oaks Springs Dental is a private practice of Dr. Jose Talavera; he and his wife Aimee are longtime residents of Miami Lakes and he is a member of BNI Excellence, Miami Lakes BNI chapter. Dr. Talavera was born and raised in Lima, Peru from where he migrated to Boston, Massachusetts to earn his Doctorate

in Dental Medicine at Tufts University after previously completing his Biology Degree from Boston University. During his years in Boston, Dr. T (as he is affectionately called by many) dedicated part of his time serving the Hispanic community and while in dental school, he served as president of the local student chapter of the Hispanic Dental Association. Dr Talavera's gentle touch has allowed him to treat numerous apprehensive patients with success; earning him a strong following with families and seniors through the Miami Lakes area, particularly those with fear of going to the dentist. Dr. T has undergone extensive training in different forms of sedation dentistry, including laughing gas and conscious sedation. Even though sometimes patient treatment plans are extensive, Dr. T works with you to address your needs. This way, you can achieve the smile you've always wanted.

Toothbrushes come in different levels of hardness, extra soft, soft and medium hard. Many times, we think that the harder it is the better.

Why? Because it's going to remove all the stains and it's going to remove the black that's been there for a little while.

I see commonly that somebody is going to start brushing a little harder knowing that they haven't gone to the dentist. So thinking that, it's going to slow down the process of gum problems.

It is a mistake because, anytime that we use a hard bristle toothbrush or even a medium bristle toothbrush, what you're doing is yes you're cleaning your teeth you're removing the plaque that is the soft plaque but with that you're also eroding the gums.

Little by little those gums are going away , if you're brushing up and down and pushing the gums up towards the roods, those gums are going to receive and that they're going to expose part of the tooth which is the sensitive part, which is the the root of the tooth.

On top of that, don't forget to floss, because floss is the only thing that's going to clean them between. The brush is going to clean outside, but in between your teeth the only thing that's going to clean is floss.

Baking soda Is very popular is actually very inexpensive It is a way to clean your teeth.

Now, baking soda what's going to do is going to removed some of the stains, on top of the teeth. That's it!.

But as it's doing that, it's a mild abrasive. If you use it every day, baking soda is going to take away some of your teeth .

It's okay to use it but use it once, max twice a week.

Your enamel is strong, but not unbreakable.

Chewing ice creates tiny cracks, acidic foods soften the surface, and reflux exposes teeth to powerful stomach acids.

Protect your smile by avoiding these hidden enamel‑destroyers and choosing habits that keep your teeth healthy for life.

Our Patient testimonial⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“I’ve been having major anxiety about going to the dentist as far back as I can remember. This was the absolute best experience at a dental office ever! The dentist was very nice and the dental hygienist was an absolute angel, she took her time and explained everything step by step and even took breaks to make sure I was ok and not stressing. Will definitely be coming back here without hesitation.”
