Brushing dentures with regular toothpaste feels like the right habit, but it isn’t. The American Dental Association (ADA) warns that toothpaste and household cleaners are too harsh for dentures and can scratch or damage them. And dentures are expensive to replace.
What works instead:
• A soft denture brush and a denture cleaner, every day
• A quick rinse after meals
• Out of your mouth overnight, in water or denture solution
Tonight, check your sink: toothpaste or denture cleaner?
