We asked the team to rate their sleep 1-10 โ€” and then we had some explaining to do ๐Ÿ˜‚

On a scale of 1-10, how would YOU rate your sleep?

1-3: You wake up more tired than when you went to bed
4-5: You sleep but never feel fully rested
6-7: Pretty good, but mornings are rough
8-9: You sleep well most nights
10: You wake up genuinely refreshed every single day

Anything below a 6 consistently? That's not just bad luck. There's usually a reason โ€” and it's often something we can actually fix.

Sometimes a patient comes in thinking one thing is wrong.

And we find something else entirely.

Not because they weren't paying attention. But because the symptoms they were living with โ€” the fatigue, the tension, the mornings that never felt right โ€” didn't have an obvious name.

That's what we see a lot of. People who've been managing symptoms for years without anyone connecting the dots.

The mouth is where a lot of those dots start. And sometimes it just takes one conversation to change the whole picture.

We put the team to the test โ€” True or False, sleep apnea edition ๐Ÿ‘‡

โŒ "Sleep apnea only affects people who snore." FALSE.
โŒ "You need a sleep study before we can help you." FALSE. We can start the conversation at your next visit.
โœ… "Your jaw position affects your airway." TRUE. More than most people realize.
โŒ "CPAP is the only real treatment." FALSE. Custom oral appliances work for a lot of our patients โ€” no mask required.
โœ… "Your dentist can be the first person to catch it." TRUE. And that's exactly what we're here for.

Most people think we're just taking a mold.

We're actually capturing something much more detailed.

With our intraoral scanner, we're building a precise 3D model of your mouth โ€” your bite, your jaw position, the space available in your airway.

No messy impressions. No guessing.

Every sleep appliance we make starts here โ€” because if we don't understand exactly how your jaw functions, we can't build something that actually works.

The goal was never just a better mold. It's a better airway.

We asked the team to finish the sentence โ€” and the answers got real ๐Ÿ˜‚

โ€œThe worst thing you can do before bed is...โ€
โ€œIf I could tell every patient one thing about sleep, it would be...โ€
โ€œMost people think sleep apnea is ___ but actually itโ€™s ___.โ€

Most people think sleep apnea only happens to older, overweight men.

Here's who we're actually seeing in our chair:

โ†’ Women in their 40s who've been told they're just stressed
โ†’ Athletes with narrow airways and strong jaw muscles
โ†’ People who've never snored a day in their life
โ†’ Young professionals running on caffeine who think that's just normal

Sleep apnea doesn't have a look. It has symptoms. And most of the people who have it have no idea.

If something feels off โ€” the fatigue, the headaches, the jaw tension โ€” that's worth a conversation.

The mouth is the gateway to everything โ€” and most people have no idea.

Your bite affects your jaw. Your jaw affects your airway. Your airway affects your sleep. Your sleep affects your hormones, your heart, your focus, your mood.

We're not just looking at your teeth when you come in. We're looking at the whole picture โ€” because that's where the real answers are.

If something feels off and nobody has figured out why, start here.

True or False โ€” how many of these did you get wrong? ๐Ÿ‘‡

โŒ "Only overweight people get sleep apnea." FALSE. Jaw structure and airway anatomy play a huge role โ€” it affects people of all body types.

โŒ "If I snore, I have sleep apnea." FALSE. Snoring is a sign, not a diagnosis. But it's worth checking.

โœ… "You can have sleep apnea and not know it." TRUE. Most people go years undiagnosed.

โŒ "CPAP is the only treatment." FALSE. Oral appliances work for many patients โ€” no mask required.

โœ… "Your dentist can help identify sleep apnea." TRUE. And that's exactly what we do.

Your wisdom teeth might not be the problem.

We were looking at this patient's X-rays when something else caught our attention โ€” cloudy sinuses. A deviated septum. A history of facial trauma from years of sports.

None of that shows up on a basic dental exam. But it shows up in your airway.

Narrow arches plus a blocked nasal passage means your body is fighting for oxygen every single night. And most people have no idea that's even happening.

This is why we look at the whole picture โ€” not just the teeth.

This or That โ€” sleep edition ๐Ÿ‘‡ Drop your answers in the comments!

๐Ÿ˜ด Sleep with a fan on OR total silence?
๐Ÿ›๏ธ One firm pillow OR a pile of soft ones?
๐Ÿ’ก Fall asleep to TV OR pitch black room?
๐Ÿ˜ฎ Mouth breather OR nose breather?
โฐ Early bird OR night owl?

P.S. โ€” if you answered mouth breather, we need to talk. That one actually affects your sleep quality more than you'd think. ๐Ÿ‘€
