With a heavy heart we annouce the passing of Dr. Ezzi’s beloved mother 💔🙏🏼
Sonia Abou-Ezzi, 90, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on March 28th, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 22, 1934, in Zahle, Lebanon, and later made her home in Massachusetts, where she resided with her daughter.
Sonia was the beloved wife of the late Antoine Abou-Ezzi. She was predeceased by her parents Michel Abi-Ezzi and Laurice Hage Abi-Ezzi, her sister, Leila Azar, and her son-in-law, Bechara Rizkallah.
She is survived by her children: Michael Abou-Ezzi and his wife Betsy; Amal Rizkallah, wife of the late Bechara Rizkallah; George Abou-Ezzi and his wife Mirna; Ghassan Abou-Ezzi and his wife Grece.
She was a devoted grandmother of 11 grandchildren and their spouses: T ony Abou-Ezzi and his wife Joud; Christa Rizkallah and her husband Dean Levy; Suzy Alvarez and her husband Mike; Leah Rizkallah and her husband Liam Russell; Natalie Fuchs and her husband Ben; Marc Abou-Ezzi; Monica Abou-Ezzi; Mikey Abou-Ezzi; Chaniel Abou-Ezzi; Mia Abou-Ezzi; and Chloe Abou-Ezzi.
She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Lucas, Aliana, Sienna, Leon, Norah, Geo, and Michael.
Sonia is survived by her beloved siblings: Samir, Samira, Nabila, Joseph and Ghada, along with their families.
Sonia was the heart of her family—a strong and kind-hearted matriarch who showered those around her with unconditional love and unwavering support. Her contagious sense of humor and enthusiasm for life brought joy to all who knew her. She was devoted to caring for her ever-expanding family and played an instrumental role in raising her grandchildren.
She found immense joy in cooking traditional Lebanese meals for her loved ones, playing cards with her cherished friends, tending to her garden, and playing with her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Sonia loved dancing and never missed an opportunity to have her hair done, always embracing life with elegance and grace. A deeply religious woman, she was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony’s Maronite Church in Lawrence, MA, where her faith was a source of strength and comfort.

Sonia will be remembered for her larger-than-life presence, immense love and unwavering devotion to her family. Her beautiful spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends and all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace🙏🏼✝️
