It’s Dental Hygiene Month, making it the perfect time to refresh your daily routine. The “Daily 4” are simple habits that can help support a healthy smile: brush twice a day, floss daily, rinse, and chew sugar-free gum. Meet our founders, Dr. Rick and Cindy Kushner! 👋

Their story began with Rick’s first dental practice in Colorado and a simple belief: everyone deserves access to quality, affordable dental care. With Rick’s passion for dentistry and Cindy’s leadership in shaping the business and its culture, they built Comfort Dental together.

That same commitment to caring for people continues to guide Comfort Dental today!

World Smile Day was created in 1999 by Harvey Ball, the artist who designed the original smiley face, as a day dedicated to smiles and acts of kindness. His message was simple: do an act of kindness, help someone smile, and make the world a little better, one smile at a time. As people who get to care for smiles every day, we couldn’t agree more. Today, we’re also celebrating the smiles of our wonderful patients and feel so grateful to be part of their smile journeys.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re honoring those who have faced breast cancer, supporting those currently navigating their journey, and remembering those we’ve lost. May awareness lead to earlier detection, greater support, and continued hope for the future. Together, we can remind those affected by breast cancer that they are not alone.

Tooth sensitivity may seem minor, but it can be a sign that something needs attention. Sensitivity can be caused by enamel erosion, gum recession, cavities, cracked teeth, or other dental concerns. Sensitive toothpaste may help temporarily, but finding the underlying cause is key to protecting your tooth and preventing the problem from getting worse. If you’re experiencing ongoing sensitivity, it’s worth having it checked!

A little water can go a long way after meals! Rinsing with water can help clear away leftover food particles and dilute acids in your mouth, giving your teeth some extra protection between meals. It’s a simple habit that can support your daily oral hygiene routine, especially when brushing right away isn’t convenient.

“Wait… we’re done?”

For Dr. Michael Rhees at Comfort Dental West Springs in Colorado Springs, CO, hearing a patient say, “That wasn’t as bad as I thought,” is one of the best parts of his job.

Root canals and extractions can feel intimidating. Helping patients leave feeling relieved makes all the difference.
