We all need to take care of ourselves. Back issues and hand/wrist issues are one of the main reasons people retire from the dental industry. So I try to have Cecelia Jaramillo - LMT come by the office a couple of times a year and give everyone massages. I need to make sure no one retires before me, plus it’s an excuse to have a massage be a business expense! 😂. But in all seriousness, taking care of backs-and my staff because they have my back too- is a very important issue!

X-mas in July! So when I bought my practice I started this tradition of Christmas in July for my team. We work half a day, then meet up at a mall or shopping area. I give them all equal amounts of cash and they have 2 hours to spend it with 2 rules. 1. They have to buy something for themselves, not family members or friends and 2. Whatever they don’t spend they have to give back to me! Then we meet up at a restaurant, I buy, and show off what each other bought. Every day we take care of our patients (which we love doing!). Then at home as most of us are parents so we are taking care of our kids or other family members but it is important to also take care of and be able to treat yourself. My team works hard and they more than deserve this! I couldn’t do it without them! Although this year my DA, Carrie had been sick all week and wasn’t able to join us. But I’ll make sure she has her time!
