Coffee itself isn’t actually the issue, it’s how long your teeth are exposed to it! 🤯

Every time you take a sip of coffee, the acidity lowers the pH in your mouth and begins an acid attack on your enamel. Normally, saliva works to neutralize that acid and help your teeth recover.

But when you sip coffee slowly throughout the day, your mouth doesn’t get a chance to reset. The pH stays lower for longer periods, which can contribute to enamel wear over time.

On top of that, coffee contains pigments that can attach more easily to enamel that’s being repeatedly exposed to acid, leading to increased staining.

This doesn’t mean you have to give up coffee, just be mindful of how often you’re sipping! Drinking it in a shorter window, rinsing with water, and maintaining a consistent oral hygiene routine can help reduce the impact. ☕️
