This might look a little strange, but this is a new smile in the works. This case is for a patient in their 20s who experienced severe tooth decay and has been unable to smile for several years. The emotional toll that takes is huge. It looks funny on the lab articulator, but this will be life-changing once delivered!

This picture may look a little odd, but we think this stuff is really interesting, and we run this page, so we're sharing it! This is a design for an implant-supported partial denture. This is a good option if a patient does not want a full arch prosthesis, but there aren't enough teeth to support a conventional partial. All steps of treatment were completed in our office. Implants are very versatile!

We just had to share a picture of this yucky little guy, because it illustrates an important point. Everything under the blue filter (applied to make it look a little less nasty, you're welcome) is calculus, AKA tartar. Look how close to the end of the root it got! This! This is why your dentist says you need a deep cleaning! Calculus buildup below the gumline will eventually cause enough inflammation that discomfort will result, but by that time, it may already be too late to save the tooth. The problem is that until it's really, really bad, there are no perceivable symptoms. Just like high blood pressure. So, just like high BP, get that perio fixed before it's too late! This has been a public service announcement by AdaCare Dental & Dentures.
