Does your child’s mouth look like this? 👀
Crowded teeth, gaps, an overbite, underbite, or teeth coming in out of place can be early signs that something isn’t developing as it should.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children see an orthodontist around age 7 for their first consultation. Why so early? Because at this age, we can spot developing issues with jaw growth and incoming permanent teeth, even if baby teeth are still present.
Early evaluation doesn’t always mean early treatment. It simply helps determine if early intervention is needed or if it’s best to monitor growth over time. When treatment is started at the right time, it can:
✔️ Guide proper jaw growth
✔️ Create space for crowded teeth
✔️ Reduce the risk of trauma to protruding front teeth
✔️ Potentially shorten or simplify future treatment
If you’re unsure, a consultation gives you clarity and peace of mind. 💙
