Meet Dr. George Vattes, DDS, a board-candidate oral and maxillofacial surgeon at our Astoria, Flushing, and Midtown locations.

Born and raised in Queens, NY, Dr. Vattes earned his BS in Biology & Chemistry from St. John's University and his DDS from NYU College of Dentistry. He completed a General Practice Residency and a four-year OMS residency at One Brooklyn Health, with a focus on dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, and pathology. He's fluent in Greek and Spanish.

Outside the practice, Dr. Vattes is a devoted husband and dog dad to Onyx (Siberian Husky) and Theodore (Yorkshire Terrier), and enjoys hiking outdoors.

Your first oral surgery consultation doesn't have to feel like a mystery.

Here's what to bring:

Your insurance forms, if you have medical or dental coverage.

Your referral slip and any x-rays, if you have them.

A current list of every medication you take.

During your visit, your surgeon will explain your diagnosis and walk you through your treatment options in plain language.

For some patients, treatment can happen the same day. More complex cases may need a second visit, and you'll leave with a clear plan either way.

Patients under 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Dr. Oghaz earned her BA in Biology and History from Columbia University, her DDS from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, and her MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed a six-year full-scope residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Mount Sinai, with training spanning dentoalveolar surgery, orthognathic surgery, dental implants, facial trauma, maxillofacial pathology, and anesthesia.
