When are Porcelain Veneers appropriate? This patient desired changes to the tooth shape, shade, and alignment of his upper teeth. To achieve his desired smile, his lower teeth required straightening (Invisalign) to correct the forces of his bite and whitening. All treatment was completed in 3 months! One of my favorite composite veneer cases from this last year 💕 Everything about this case was fun!! The patient is a fabulous person and the case is full of intricacies that make dentistry SO artistically satisfying. So lets look more closely… As humans, our upper canines define the corners of our smile. In this case, she is missing her lateral incisors (teeth between your front tooth and canine). Her smile appears narrow because of this and her canines lack prominence. Through composite bonding, I sculpted the teeth behind her canines (first premolars) to look like her canines. Her original canines were sculpted to be flatter and appear like lateral incisors when she smiles. I lengthened her teeth with bonding to make the edges even and parallel to the line of her lower lip. A harmonized smile 😁

A great case illustrating the effects of botox treatment in the masseter muscle to reduce jaw pain and reduce clenching. Botox causes muscle atrophy by deactivating the muscle. The masseter muscle reducing in size changes the facial shape from more square to more heart shaped, as seen in the before and after photos both when clenching and at rest. Her pain is gone too!! *all photos shared with patient consent*

Baby tooth bonding 👶🦷😁lateral incisors are the most commonly missing teeth in development of the adult dentition. When there is not an adult tooth behind a baby tooth, the baby tooth may stay in place permanently and darken over time. This patient is getting married and was bothered by the appearance of his darker retained lateral incisor babyteeth when smiling and in pictures. I fixed this using quick/easy/painless composite bonding of the baby teeth and reshaping the corner of his front tooth. Bonding is a great way to improve your smile without removing any underlying tooth structure (ie no drilling!). He is ready to walk down the aisle! 🤵‍♂️ 👰‍♀️ *special side note: this patient’s Dad was my Moms great friend in high school and my Dads fraternity brother. His Dad introduced my parents 38 years ago 💕
