WEDNESDAY WONDERS•••
WAIT…WHAT!?

The first electric toothbrush was invented in Switzerland in 1954… but originally, it wasn’t designed for convenience.

It was created for people with limited motor function and orthodontic patients who struggled to clean effectively by hand.

Fast-forward a few decades and now some toothbrushes have Bluetooth, pressure sensors, AI tracking, and probably know more about your habits than your therapist.

Meanwhile, plaque still remains stubbornly medieval.

Happy Wednesday Wonders from UB. 😏

WEDNESDAY WONDERS•••
True or False?

In parts of medieval Germany, one alleged “cure” for a toothache involved kissing a donkey.

Yes. An actual donkey. And it’s true…

Because before modern dentistry, people tried everything to stop dental pain—charms, spells, herbs, moon rituals, animal bones, and apparently… emotionally supportive livestock.

Thankfully, today’s solutions involve considerably fewer hooves and substantially more science.

Which, frankly, is better for everyone involved…
So, from everyone at UB—we advise you call your trusted dentist… and leave the livestock for livestock things.

MONDAY MIDDAY MATTERS•••
True or False?

Can the sun lighten your teeth?

Technically?—yes… but not in the way people think or hope.

Sun exposure can slightly dehydrate the enamel surface, which may temporarily make teeth appear a bit brighter. Certain UV reactions can also subtly affect surface staining over time.

BUT—

The sun is not whitening your teeth from the inside out… and if your teeth are looking dramatically “lighter” after laying poolside for six hours, there’s a solid chance you’re just dehydrated, squinting, or overly committed to optimism.

Real whitening happens through chemistry, polishing, stain removal, and maintaining healthy enamel—not solar worship.

Still though… if smiling in the sunshine makes you drink more water, feel better about yourself, and stop hiding your teeth in photos?—we fully support that part.

—UB
Precision matters. Even when discussing sunlight.

THURS-YAY THOUGHTS•••
What Makes You Smile?

Some people arrive carrying résumés, possessions, agendas or even motivations… others arrive carrying a smile that changes the temperature of the room.

What makes you smile?

WEDNESDAY WONDERS•••
If You’ve Ever Wondered Who We Are…

Today we’re featuring the UB Team behind the scenes—the people making sure things run smoothly, questions get answered, details don’t slip through the cracks, and cases keep moving with precision, care, and communication.

Because we’re not just a company—we’re the people who genuinely give a damn about what we do…

Mark • Owner & Visionary

Mark is the foundation-builder behind UB—the kind of leader/owner who understands that long-term success is built through consistency, trust, standards, and surrounding yourself with the right people. He brings experience, direction, compassion, and a deeply rooted commitment to doing things correctly, while continually pushing UB toward growth, innovation, and stronger relationships with the doctors and patients we serve.

Joe • General Manager & Implant Guru

Joe is the guy who can walk into chaos, assess the situation in five minutes flat, and somehow make everyone feel like things are already under control. He brings decades of technical understanding, problem-solving, and calm confidence to the table daily—helping doctors navigate even the trickiest implant situations with clarity, honesty, and real-world experience.

Kelsey • Office Administrator & Overall Magician

Kelsey keeps the wheels turning... she’s the voice of reassurance, the organizational backbone, the one making sure communication stays clear, timelines stay moving, and nobody feels left in the dark. She handles a thousand moving parts with warmth, patience, and the kind of emotional intelligence that can’t be trained—it’s just who she is.

Tom • Digital Overseer & Technical Support

Tom is the steady hand behind the systems, machines, maintenance, and digital flow that keep UB operating at full speed. He’s thoughtful, resourceful, and incredibly detail-oriented—the kind of person who notices problems before they become problems, noticing irregularities before they even become real. Ton is quietly brilliant, exceptionally dependable.

Gordon • Master Ceramist

Gordon brings artistry to dentistry. His eye for detail, aesthetics, balance, and craftsmanship shows up in every case he touches. There’s decades of experience behind his work—but also patience, precision, and pride in doing things the right way, not the rushed way.

Jacob • Denturist

Jacob brings curiosity, adaptability, and an incredible willingness to learn. He absorbs information fast, asks smart questions, and genuinely cares about improving every day. Watching someone grow into mastery in real time is a powerful thing—and Jacob shows up ready for it, and we aim to support him at every evolution in his mastery.

Doug • Master Esthetic Ceramist

Doug brings years of grounded leadership and long-view thinking to the team. He has a natural ability to keep people focused on what matters most while balancing the practical realities behind the scenes. Dependable, perceptive, and deeply committed to quality, Doug helps hold the larger vision together without losing sight of the people involved.

Derick • Workflow Overseer; Model Production & Alignment

Derick brings consistency, focus, and a strong work ethic to the everyday rhythm of UB. He’s the kind of person who quietly keeps things moving, adapts quickly when challenges arise, and takes personal pride in making sure the work gets done right. Reliable people are the backbone of any great team—and Derick shows an example of this on the daily.

James • VA & Insight Cultural/Marketing Strategist

James helps shape the energetic pulse and outward presence of UB—bringing instinct, timing, communication, and creative perspective into the way the company connects, grows, and moves forward. From marketing flow and messaging to understanding people on a deeper level, she helps keep the heart, rhythm, and personality alive behind the precision.

At Unbreakable Bonds, technology matters, precision matters, skill matters… but the people behind it all?—that’s the real difference—we do this work because we love solving problems, we treat each case as if it were for our own mouth, and because we are each connected to the deeper human side of the work—because dentistry isn’t just about teeth: it’s about helping people chew comfortably, nourish themselves properly, speak confidently, smile freely, and feel more like themselves again.

Through communication, creative direction, and patient-centered perspective, UB helps keep the heart behind the science in focus.

(And yes—we know some of us still need updated website photos… turns out keeping cases moving, phones answered, scans reviewed, implants seated, and the daily chaos under control more frequently than not takes priority over standing still long enough for a glamour shot—stay tuned...)

TUESDAY TRUTH•••
Easy Isn’t Always Easy

The cases that look easy… are usually the ones quietly setting traps.

Margins that almost seat.
Contacts that almost feel right.
Scans that almost captured everything.

“Almost” is expensive.

At UB, we don’t gamble on almost—we catch what others miss before it becomes your remake.

Because predictability isn’t luck… it’s our discipline.

MONDAY MORNING MATTERS•••
Wait… What!?

Over the years, patients have shared the many other ways they use toothpaste—here are some of their favorites…

Zapping zits overnight.
Polishing foggy headlights.
Shining up sneakers and jewelry.
Cleaning grout.
Deodorizing hands.
Even scrubbing scuffed walls.

Toothpaste has quietly built a side career as a household hack… and honestly?—some of it works—because toothpaste is mildly abrasive, detergent-based, and designed to break things up and clean surfaces.

But here’s the pivot—what works on headlights… isn’t the same as what works long-term in a mouth…

Because enamel isn’t tile.
Dentin isn’t rubber.
And “clean” isn’t just about what looks better—it’s about what lasts.

Doctors see it all the time—overbrushing, the wrong abrasivity, using whatever’s on sale or trending… and slowly, subtly, things start to wear down, recede, or lose their edge.

So yes—use toothpaste to shine your sneakers if you want.

But when it comes to a patients’ restorations, margins, and long-term stability?—this isn’t a DIY category.

Precision matters. Materials matter. Technique matters.

Because in dentistry—the difference between “clean” and clinically sound… is everything.

WEDNESDAY WONDER•••
Most Labs…

Move fast. The best labs move clear.

Because it’s rarely the big things that break a case—it’s the tiny, assumed, “should be fine” details that slip through.

At UB we show it actionably everywhere:
—the extra question that prevents a remake
—the 10-second check that saves hours
—the moment you pause instead of push

Speed feels productive… clarity IS productive.

If something doesn’t seat, doesn’t translate, or doesn’t quite make sense—start there… make Unbreakable Bonds your next call—ask for Joe at 541-779-6503.

MONDAY MORNING MATTERS•••
The Fix You Didn’t Know You Needed (Until You Did)

There’s a moment in almost every implant case…

Not at the consult.
Not during surgery.
Not even when the scan looks “pretty good.”

It’s later.

When something doesn’t quite seat.
When the contacts feel off.
When the bite fights back.
When time—the one thing nobody has enough of—starts leaking out of the appointment.

That moment? That’s where most labs step in.

UB steps in long before it ever gets there…

Because here’s the truth most people don’t say out loud:

Implant problems don’t start when things go wrong…
They start when tiny things go unchecked.

A slight distortion in a full-arch scan.
A missed angulation issue.
A case designed in isolation instead of in sequence.
A “should be fine” that quietly… isn’t.

Most labs receive the case and do their best with what they’re given.

We don’t play that game.

At Unbreakable Bonds, we look at your case like it’s already in the mouth…

We stress-test it. We question it.
We run it forward before it ever runs backward in your chair.

Because the goal isn’t just to make something that fits—the goal is to make something that fits so predictably, so cleanly… that you forget what friction even feels like.

UB isn’t just a lab.
It’s a filter. It’s your solution.

A layer between “this might work” and “this will work.”

A second set of eyes that catch what others miss.
A system that protects your time, your schedule, your budget and your reputation—without you having to think twice about it.

So when your cases start seating easier, appointments start running smoother, and remakes start quietly disappearing…

It won’t feel dramatic. It’ll feel… obvious.
Like it should’ve been this way all along.
