My door has been open to students from day one.

If you want to come in and shadow, come in and shadow.
If you want to see what an extraction looks like up close before you commit to dental school, I'd rather you know now than find out after you've invested years into it. Come see it. Make sure this is something you want to do.

I had mentors who did that for me. Dentists who opened their practices, let me shadow, showed me what the work really looked like before I committed to it. Those experiences shaped me, and I carry them into how we run things here.

Right now we take dental assisting interns, and we take them seriously.

Some people have one part of their smile that's always bothered them.
For one of my patients, it was the gap between her front teeth. She'd had it her whole life. She's never liked it, but she didn't know what to do about it, or even that there was an option.
She started Invisalign with us a couple of months ago. She came in recently for a check, and you could already see the difference. The gap was closing. Eight weeks in and she could see it happening.
That's the thing about Invisalign that people don't expect. The movement starts quickly, and once you start seeing it, it becomes real in a way it wasn't before.
This patient waited a long time to do this. And she told me the only reason she finally said yes was because Invisalign meant she didn't have to do it with brackets and wires. She would never have considered traditional ortho.

I've been a dentist for nearly 20 years but I'm always learning.

When I decided to add Invisalign to what we offer here, I knew it was going to be more involved than I'd expected. And it was.

So I found a community of providers who had been doing this longer than me, and I leaned on them. When I had a complicated case, I asked for input.

Within eight months of starting, we'd reached Silver and then Gold provider status with Invisalign, which is based on case numbers. We got there because patients kept coming, and they loved the work we're doing.
