We know candy and sweets will be everywhere this month, and we’re not here to take the fun away. In fact, Dr. Uriegas is a HUGE fan of cookies!🤭🍬🍪
Here are a few tooth-friendly tips for candy season:
• Choose chocolate over sticky candies (it rinses away more easily).
• Drink water after sweets.
• Don’t forget to floss before bed!

Happy National Coffee Day!
Coffee. ☕ We love the smell of it, we’re obsessed with it, but what is it doing to our beautiful smiles? Unfortunately, it only takes one cup of coffee a day to cause stained teeth.

You can reduce this by following your morning cup with a fibrous piece of fruit (like a handful of strawberries) or by drinking your coffee through a straw. It’s a pain, but it’s SO worth it to have a gorgeous white smile!

🦷 *wiggle wiggle* 🦷
Does your little one have their first wiggly tooth? Yay! 🥳 That’s cause for celebration! They’re probably SO excited for the tooth fairy to come, and you might be curious whether it’s okay to pull that wiggly tooth out for them.
The thing is, kids aren’t great at communicating fear or pain at that age, so it’s hard to get a good sense of whether pulling their tooth is scaring them or causing pain. The last thing we want is any kind of trauma around dental care!
If you feel like their tooth is ready to come out, have them eat an apple! 🍎 This will usually do the trick. Another idea is chewing on a ( yes, sticky,semi-tough candy is good for wiggling loose teeth out). And if they accidentally swallow it, don’t panic. It won’t harm them and you can just write a note to the tooth fairy and explain what happened! 😉🧚
